Can you fix the glass on whatever I drive?

Yes, and usually faster than people expect. A customer's Saab went from first phone call to a new windshield in under 24 hours. Here is every job the shop takes on.

“This place is fantastic, from calling to windshield installed in less than 24 hours at a great rate. They did a perfect job on my Saab.”

“I had the headlights on my car restored here and they turned out looking brand new! It only took 2 hours and $50. Well worth it! They also fixed a rock chip in my windshield before it cracked across the whole thing for $40. So glad I found this place! Great service, great prices! Thank you!”
Dee Ann, on Google
“They did a wonderful job on getting the window out and the other one put in. It takes about 45 minutes for the window replacement. but then an hour to let the adhesive dry.”

Any year, any vehicle

Four from the bay and the lot. The common thread is glass that has to fit a frame nobody makes a universal part for.

Read the glass

A new windshield, an hour after it went in.

This is one of ours in the lot, retention tape still on. Tap a pin for what we look at on every windshield before we quote, and after we set one.

One camera behind the mirror. Six jobs riding on it.

Every system below aims through your windshield. When the glass changes, the camera is recalibrated to manufacturer spec in our own shop, so you skip the dealership.

  1. Lane departure warning

Reads the painted lane lines. Aimed a degree off, it warns late or nags on a straight road.

  2. Forward collision sensing

Judges the distance to the car ahead and has to respond at the right range, not a car length late.

  3. Adaptive cruise

Holds your following gap on Highway 70. A tilted camera holds the wrong one.

  4. Traffic sign recognition

Reads speed limit signs off the shoulder and puts them on your dash, clearly, if it is looking straight.

  5. Automatic braking

Has to activate when it should, and only then. This is the one you never want guessing.

  6. Parking & backup cameras

Guidelines that show accurate angles, so the line on the screen is where the bumper really is.

  7. Recalibration is due after a windshield, a front-end hit, alignment or suspension work, or an airbag going off.

    ADAS recalibration

Thirty years in auto glass, and he has seen just about everything.

Mike, our installer, has set glass in the trade for over three decades: everyday sedans, today's camera-equipped models, logging trucks and farm equipment. Quality work, done in a timely fashion, is the whole job, and the reviews say the same.

Questions people ask at the counter

Something not here? Call (530) 538-8100 and ask for a straight answer.

A Touch of Glass & Screen is pre-approved with all insurance companies, and we walk you through the glass claim ourselves so you are not stuck on hold. Whether the claim is covered, and what you pay, depends on your own policy, so have it handy when you call (530) 538-8100.

If your vehicle has a lane departure warning camera behind the mirror, yes. We recalibrate the camera after every windshield replacement, here in our Oroville shop, so you do not have to book a separate dealership visit.

Yes. Our mobile unit comes out at no extra charge in Oroville and the surrounding area. Chip repairs and ADAS calibration are best done in the shop at 2601 S 5th Ave.

One customer timed a window replacement at about 45 minutes, then an hour for the adhesive to set before driving. A windshield runs on the same idea: the fit is quick, and the urethane needs its cure time.

We have run an in-shop chip repair special at $35. Prices change with the size of the chip and the vehicle, so call (530) 538-8100 for today's price, and get the chip filled before heat or a pothole runs it across the glass.

Any year of any vehicle: cars, pickups, semis, motorhomes, logging trucks, tractors and farm equipment, and classics. We have set glass in everything from a vintage Rolls-Royce to a Class A motorhome.

Bring it to South 5th, or we will come to you.

Tell us the year, make and model and which glass is damaged. If insurance is paying, we handle the claim with you.
